An Arita dish of flat bottomed form decorated in the centre with a flowering peony tree and hydrangea. The orange-red flower clumps and pale green leaves are depicted in overglaze enamels, the leaves in underglaze blue, against a white background. The almost vertical sides are decorated with Buddhist emblems in a pale underglaze blue.
