Production notes
These double fish dishes were made from the 12th century on in both Zhejiang and Guangdong. This one is definitely from Zhejiang Province as the Guangdong pieces (generally earlier in date) do not have the lotus petals on the exterior. This example is unusually fine as when held up to the light it is semi-transparent which is most unusual and shows the finely worked and relatively thin body.(BSM)
