Description part summary
This group consists of two bronze feline plaques; one with a single curled feline and the other with two crouching felines one on top of the other. In each case the face faces to the front with the eyes, mouths and feet stylistically drawn as circles with holes in the middle. It has been suggested this very characteristic stylisation of the animal is attributable to the Shanrong tribes, who were active in the Ordos region at the time in question. It should also be noted that the circular decoration on the tigers in the double plaque is paralleled on the bronze ferrule from central China in the collection Batea 236.
