Description part summary
(i) A bridle ornament in the form of a recumbent argali ram resting with its head turned back against its hindquarters and legs curled up. The back with a ring for attachment. The design here can be traced back to Scythian examples of the 5th century BC in the region of the Black Sea. A similar plaque of the late 4th to early 3rd century BC has been excavated in northern Shanxi. (ii) A bridle ornament in the form of a lynx mask with stylised bird form hanging from its jaws. Ring for attachment at back. Similar examples in silver are known dating form the 3rd century BC.
