Description part summary
A circular roof end finial tile. The exterior is modelled in high relief with rings of lotus petals under a crackled greenish glaze. The rim has a border of impressed circles picked out in brown and repeated around a finely carved spray of lotus on a stipled ground, all in the biscuit in the centre. The base shows the almost white porcellaneous ware. Other possible uses include a small bowl (John Guy) or a mortar for grinding (BSM).
