Description part summary
Painted red lacquer bead box of circular tube-like section, the top and bottom halves of the box of equal size, both decorated in inlaid lacquer technique with two kui dragons and red fungi amid green foliage. The kui dragons each with one claw of reddish brown colour, the dragons being dark brown and red brown respectively, both with green gilded manes all on a brick-red ground, each section edged with key fret picked out in gold on a narrow black lacquer band, the whole design with traces of gold edging; the interior lacquered black.
