Description part summary
A small Yixing pottery octagonal seal box covered with deep reddish-brown lacquer. The top of the lid is incised with a prunus spray and the tiny seal mark of Lu Kuisheng (Lu Dong) (ante 1780-1850), the most celebrated Yangzhou lacquer artist of the early 19th century. Lu Dong was the grandson of Lu Yingzhi (see Exhibit 325). The interior and base of the Yixing pottery are covered with greyish-white enamel.
