Description part summary
A basin shaped almost straight sided bowl with flaring rim. There is painted decoration in underglaze blue in the centre of the interior of a flaming pearl with classic scroll in a narrow band round the rim. The steep sides have a wide band of shufu-type moulded decoration of two four-clawed dragons chasing flaming pearl. The scales of the dragon are rendered by faint cross-hatching. The exterior has a continuous band of chrysanthenums and windswept leaves in underglaze blue between underglaze blue line borders. The flat base has a low unglazed shufu-type foot. The decoration is all under pale blue heavily crackled glaze imitating Yuan pieces.
