Description part summary
A white glazed stoneware tortoise float for a pond. The piece is of lotus pod shape with the head of the tortoise and its four legs and tail appearing as small protrusions. The carapace has a network of hexagonal panels with raised line borders, the underside is incised with four large lotus petals. The white glaze only covers about half of the pendulent section.
