A nephrite jade finial of a peacock shown with its fan tail raised with incised palmette feather eyes. Its head is held back and touching the tail, its beak holding short lingus spray, its wings are partly raised their tips touching the tail. The body has fine details throughout. It is very similar to pottery headresses worn by high class ladies in high Tang period.
