A large ginger jar painted in underglaze blue and red with birds in flight and perched on branches of a cherry tree a rock with pheasant separating from a magnolia in full bloom and peonies; narrow borders of convolvulus prunus, peony and chrysanthenum on the shoulder and round the bottom with the flowers or details very unusually rendered in anhua incised technique, the base with 6 character underglaze blue Jiajing mark written in two lines horizontally in a double circle.
