Description
Description part summary
Bronze duo bell of characteristic form with short squared handle with two raised bands round the mouth of the handle. Each side of the bell has a surface panel taking up most of the side in question with an elaborate decoration of two dragons with voluted and feathered bodies striding forward facing the handle with a baby dragon following each, another dragon between the striding dragons addorsed, all on a spotted ground. The decoration here is typical of the late Spring and Autumn period, which seems to make this duo bell the earliest example so far published.
