Description part summary
A white glazed stemmed bowl, the steeply rounded sides with flared rim and numerous concentric potting lines springing from a short, hollow, splayed stem. It is covered overall with a transparent ivory-tinted glaze of Ding type pooling slightly on the interior, with five small, neat spur marks in the centre, the unglazed base of the stem revealing the white porcellaneous ware and five additional spur marks on the rim of the stem.

Compare exhibit 465 in the Kiln Sherds Exhibition at the Ashmolean Museum in 1980. This kiln has been identified as the Peng kiln of literature, whose products Cao Zhao, an early Yuan commentator on Chinese ceramics, described as 'new Ding ware'.
