Description part summary
A thinly potted ewer with short circular spout, shallow foot and globular body, of which the lower half is formed as a large open flower with protruding petals decorated with incised stamen-like patterns. The mouth rim is decorated with three concentric incised lines. The whole piece is covered with a greenish white glaze.

A similar piece has been excavated from a tomb at Hefei, Anhui which contains a tablet dating the purchase of the tomb site to 946. A recent exhibition at the National Palace Museum, Taipei exhibited a bowl with similar protruding petals decoration which was described as Ding ware.
