Description part summary
Bronze gu beaker encrusted with mineral adhesions. The taotie motif is heavily worn. There is a two or three character inscription behind the foot, which is illegible due to the encrustation. The conservator says the metal underneath is too unstable to safely remove the encrustation.

The object was conserved by Wiltshire and Swindon History Centre in 2019; Treated for bronze disease, excess overpainting removed on previously restuck piece on rim and foot. Mineral encrustation.
