Description part summary
A small grey pottery water container with wide mouth, slightly concave base and protruding shoulders. The shoulders are decorated with zig-zag simulated weave pattern and applied with three horizontal S-shaped ornaments while the base is carved with a three stroke H-like incision. The container is covered with a primitive brownish green iron oxide glaze with an accidental phosphatic splash caused by wood ash splashing onto one shoulder during firing.

Production notes
Similar pieces have been excavated from Tunxi, Anhui province and Quzhou, Zhejiang province. A very similar example was seen by me in the collection of the Wuyi Museum Zhejiang Province as having come from a local kiln ,probably Quzhou dated to 9th century BC.
