A rectangular jade seal surmounted by an arched semicircular handle over and through which is an entwined kui dragon. The seal base has a poem in archaic script and on one side an inscription in running script dated the second month of 1565 and signed 'San Qiao'.

' San Qiao' is recorded as the studio name of Wen Ping (1489-1573), the son of the famous artist Wen Zhenming; Wen Ping was known as an artist and seal carver in his own right but is not recorded as having carved seals in jade.
