Description
Description part summary
A birchwood box decorated with farmer with large hat and arms outstretched and braced against the wind with five cherry blossoms in relief being blown above and across in front of him. Two characters on the left hand side of the front of the box say Nikko (in Tochigi prefecture). The decoration appears in relief using the original skin of the birch tree, the bark sown at one end and the whole box fitting so tightly that a vacuum is created, a sign of the quality involved here.
