Description part summary
A green lead glaze circular hu vase with fine taotie masks and ring moulded and fixed to body. There are two sets of three bands; one round the bottom of the neck and one set round the thickest part. The top has a dish shaped mouth showing the reddish body where there are four spur marks. The exterior, base and lip are covered by a fine, cracked, dark green lead glaze. The interior of part of the mouth is glazed with a brown lead glaze.

Broken into pieces on 17 Dec 2019 when shipped to Brunei Gallery; original condition glaze chipped around rim, large chip at base of exterior rim. Returned to Museum on 20 May 2021, repaired by Wiltshire History Centre conservation team.
