Cizhou polychrome tea bowl of shallow open form, the clay of pale greyish buff with low foot covered in the interior and half way down the exterior with a thick white slip with some reddish stainings in the crackled surface, the white slip covered by a transparent glaze; the interior is decorated in green and red overglaze enamels with a freely drawn floral spray of two daisy-like flowers in very dark red the spray surrounded by a triple line border halfway up the sides of the bowl of one broad line between two narrow lines in tomato red, which has worn in places, traces of three spur marks in the interior
