'On the Qing Yu An (blusih green jade bowl (1))' - Written by the EmperorThe blue clouds are scattered about in the sky;The day is fine and bright.I write some wonderful verses with the brushAs my reading centres on Chang Heng's treatises.' Note 1; the Qing Yu An is the title of a song. the term with 3 characters occurs in a verse written by Chang Heng (78 - 139AD) an eminent astromer and mathematician of the Han dynasty who graduated about 100AD; he declined taking office and gave himself up to scientific studies. he rose to be Grand Historiographer and subsequently to even higher rank; he constructed an armillary sphere and wrote a treatise on astronomy, entitled Ling Xian, besides poetry and miscellaneous treatises.
