Description part summary
A black clay Yixing cricket travelling box and cover of deep circular form narrowing towards the top, which has a thickened ridge round the rim. The surface is patinated to appear like metal. The sides have two ring handles from bearded monkey-like animal masks in relief on either side. The base and cover have leaf shaped cartouches with double lined borders with three characters in relief reading 'jing ji zao'.
