Description part summary
A large blue and white dish with flat rim decorated in the central medallion with a pair of birds in a prunus tree in white reserve against a blue background. The cavetto has a band of blue ruyi heads. The broad flat rim has five birds in flight and five alternating peony flower sprays with birds on branch in blue against a white ground. The reverse has zig-zag prunus sprays and trident-shaped motifs round the base foot rim. On the base is a mark, probably the name of the potter or workshop - surname Gu.
