Description part summary

Bronze spearhead with curved cutting edges; Down the centre is a ridge with two shallow depressions on either side. There are a pair of sunken decorative units near the shaft opening. The dark grey surface carries the rare etched pattern known as rhombus and recessed lattice diaper. This type of weapon is associated with the eastern States of Wu and Yue and is an example of the kind of prestige pieces that circulated between rulers of different states. The pattern is almost the same as that found on the famous sword of Goujian, King of Yue, who ruled from 496-465 BC.
